About Amani

Meet Amani! Amani is a handsome 45 lb Husky mix with a big heart, a playful personality, and absolutely no understanding of personal space when cuddles are available. This sweet boy is the perfect combination of active adventure buddy and affectionate sidekick. He loves going for walks, playing with his toys, and hanging out with his people. Squeaky toys and tennis balls are particular favorites — although tennis balls have been known to activate FULL ZOOMIE MODE, so consider yourself warned. When the excitement is over, Amani is perfectly happy settling down beside you with a Benebone. And by “beside you,” we should probably mention that he may eventually decide your lap is a perfectly reasonable place for a 45-pound Husky mix to sit. Amani already knows sit and lay down, walks nicely on leash, and loves following his humans around to make sure they aren’t doing anything interesting without him. He’s also got an impressive résumé: Potty trained Crate trained Leash trained Neutered Vaccinated Microchipped Great with kids Dog friendly Not cat friendly — Amani needs a home with NO feline residents Amani enjoys other dogs, particularly those who appreciate his playful energy and are happy to join in the fun. When it comes to cats, however, Amani is definitely not a match for a feline household. He needs a home where there are no cats or other feline residents. Because this boy is FAST and thoroughly enjoys stretching those legs, a securely fenced yard is recommended so he has a safe place to run, play, and get his zoomies out. Amani is currently heartworm positive, but he is undergoing treatment. His rescue is making sure he receives the care he needs so he can put heartworms behind him and move forward with the healthy, happy life he deserves. If you’re looking for a dog who can make you laugh, join you on adventures, entertain you with ridiculous zoomies, and then climb into your lap like he’s a tiny puppy... Amani might just be your guy. He’s ready for a family to call his own — as long as the cats sit this one out. Amani is currently fostered in Texas and available to transport to approved adopter in the Midwest, Northeast and Canada. $400 Adoption fee includes vaccinations, Spay/Neuter, microchip, deworming, $300 fee for Transport and vet/documentation requirements in preparation for transport.
